Young Enterprise

Many schools participate in this scheme, which is a business/education partnership. Its mission is to inspire and educate young people to understand and value the role of business. It helps young people (aged 15–19) who are still at school or college to form and run their own companies. This offers them a way of developing their enterprise skills and smoothing the difficult transition from school to work. Business consultants advise each company. There is a one-term course devised to meet many of the requirements of the National Curriculum for economic and environmental awareness and an examination (http://www.young-enterprise.org.uk“>www.young-enterprise.org.uk; tel 01865 776 845).
