THE King’s ElyGolf Academy has qualified for the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) National Plate Finals.
King’s Ely Senior students Thomas Stiff and David Harris, and King’s Ely Junior pupil Paul Collington, competed in the finals of the Regional Knockout at Elton Furze Golf Club, near Peterborough, on May 24th.
The team beat Oakham School at the event, meaning they qualified for the ISGA National Plate Finals being heldat CollingtreePark Golf Club in Northampton on June 25th.
On May 21st, Paul and fellow King’s Ely Junior pupil Ben Collier also competed at the ISGA Junior Stableford, heldat SunningdaleHeath Golf Club. Ben won the individual Net Prize on the day and the pair camesecond overall.
Theselatest golfing achievements come just weeks after Paul won theprestigious Wellington College Silver Salver Team Nett Prize. Ben won the Nett Division on the day andfellow Golf Academy member,Thomas Jackson, claimed second in the Individual Division.
