Farlington School is holding a spectacular Fashion Show on Thursday 14thJuneat 6.30pm. The event will showcase the latest collectionsfrom local fashion retailersand Farlington’s Textile Design students. It is a whole school event with students and staff modellingthe outfits on the catwalk.
We are delighted that local fashion boutiqueswill be taking part includingLa Vida Boutique, RetroEsque, Doodie Stark, Xclusiv, Vestimenta and C & H Fabrics from Horsham, One Forty and Mann’s from Cranleigh and Willow in Billinghurst. We are particularly looking forward to welcoming back Molly Coddle Childrenswear,who took part in the fashion show held in 2015. Warnham Blooms are also supporting the show, as are TonicsHair and Boots No 7. The show, which will have a Hollywood theme, will also feature designs and creations from girls in the Prep School.
There will be a chance to shop at the pop-up boutiques before and after the show whilst enjoying Prosecco and canapés. Firebird Brewery will also be on hand with their mobile bar. This event is open to the local community, not just Farlington parents.
The Fashion Show is one of the highlights of Farlington’s Arts Week which features a spectacular ‘Song and Dance!’ compilation of favourites from musical theatreon Monday evening and a Comedy Evening from Barnstormers Comedyon the Tuesday,which isalsoopen to all.The Comedy Evening will be compered by Dan Evans and feature Ben Norris and Mark Simmons, top acts from the London circuit
As part of Arts Week, the studentswill have the opportunity to either perform in or watch the Drama, Dance and Music Festivalsthat are taking place. These are competitions open to all students in Year 5 to Upper Sixth, judged by an external adjudicator. Different arts-based workshops will also be taking placeincluding Working with Green Screens, Making Movies in Classics, Stage Lighting Workshopand Creating Wounds
It promises to be a stimulating week at Farlington, celebrating the visual and performing arts. In addition, Farlington will be Venue 3 on the Horsham Artists Open Studios Trail on the weekends of 9/10thand 16/17thJune where visitors will have the chance to meet local artists and designersand see their work.
