Founded in 2009 from a merger between two Bideford Schools: Grenville College (founded in 1954) and Edgehill College (1884). The teaching and boarding is being concentrated on the Northdown campus, the old Edgehill site. This comprises five elegant houses and other buildings, which form part of an estate of 50 acres. It is in a peaceful and picturesque situation, with views across the Torridge Estuary towards Exmoor and close to beautiful surfing beaches. The school will maintain Grenville College's well-established dyslexia. Few further details of the new school are available at the time of going to press.
Pupils: 12 weeks to 18 years. Senior department 11-18.
