Affiliation

Nearly all the schools and tutorial colleges profiled on this website are affiliated to some sort of association, which often indicates a degree of quality control.


In most cases affiliation is through the Head (eg HMC); in others it indicates a particular educational philosophy (eg Round Square) or purpose (eg GDST – Girls Day School Trust), a specialism (eg Choir Schools Association) or religion (eg Catholic Independent Schools Conference).


There are also various management associations that relate to eg the bursar or the governors but, important as they are to the running of schools, this website is not concerned with them.
